Residential contractors are the only contractors that are not required to take the Business and Law Management exam. A Building Construction License is required in Mississippi for projects that are over $50,000 in value. A licensed building contractor in Mississippi can perform general aspects of construction on any commercial, residential or industrial structure. A 70% is required to pass the exam. The general contractors exam on the other hand has 80 questions and an 3-hour time limit. A 70% is required to pass the exam.
